Animatedkid’s 4th Anniversary

Hey everyone. I just wanted to make a quick little post about my 4th anniversary at WordPress, and…… I cannot believe it. I never thought 4 years ago that I would still be running this blog and meet all of the amazing people I have met, talking about what I love, since I never felt like I could discuss it with the people in my real life. In 2013, I post a dear family member in the spring, and I was…… noticeably numb. The people around me noticed that I became a lot more cold, and even I myself felt like my sanity has gone gown tremendously, like a switch shut down. Watching these movies were the only things that were getting my attention, and I felt somewhat like how I was before everything went down. I didn’t feel numb, or I was less numb, and I needed an outlet to keep it going.

4 years later, and it is beyond perplexing to see how much I have grown within that time, from a lost 16 year old with nothing to do and darkness seeping to a boil, to a 20 year old with a job, emotional stability, and barely has time to micromanage. I have NEVER been a social media person, and am still a very private person, but it is with the help of animation fans that I finally started to regularly use Twitter this year, go on a podcast, and wanting to be more social, so I thank you all for helping me with this journey. Maybe one day, I will FINALLY show my face, and let you all into my real world more.

Now regarding the blog, I have fallen off with the Friendship/Romance interaction posts, but that is because my laptop is broken, and I am still having trouble connecting to WordPress with my internet after all of these months (that is why most of the recent posts in general have no pictures, since I post them from my phone). There are some files that are complete in my archives that I will publish, but I am not in a rush with posting those ones. Those type of posts will go into 2018, and I am continuing to release reviews on the animated films from this year.

I am planning on watching Season 1 of the Tangled series, and then I will post a review on it sometime before the end of the year, and am planning to do the same thing with the Big Hero 6 series. Maybe I will go back to the older Disney and DreamWorks shows based on their movies, and review those as well. The others are a bigger priority for sure, but this is definitely in my foresight to complete.

Honestly, I do kind of miss reviewing films in general, so I MIGHT start reviewing the Don Bluth/Fox/Blue Sky films later on in the year, or I will wait until 2018 to start it. Thank you all for the continued love and support, and I will see you all soon. Hopefully the site will be around for many years to come.

  1. Congrats! I’m looking forward to what you have have planned in the future. Keep up the good work!

  2. Congrats.

Honestly, I think it is smart to not show your face. You are young, and the beginning of your career, and you never know how some boss interprets what you do on the internet. To many people still think that animation is for kids.

    1. That’s definitely a worry I have always had. Just when people think that stigma of animation is going away, something happens to always put it in the forefront. Thank you for everything.
